In January 2007, Nancy and Chuck visited Chile. They started in the north of the country, in the Atacama Desert and Lauca National Park, then flew to the central part of the country to bird the region around Santiago and south, and then flew to Patagonia. In the north, they were hosted by Barbara Knapton of Alto Andino Tours, in the south by Ricardo Matus of Natura Patagonia, and in the central part by Alejandro Simeone of Hualamo Tours, who coordinated their Chile visit. They were able to see most of the endemics in the country as well as many other birds.
