In November2006, Nancy realized a lifetime goal: a visit to the Galapagos Islands. She and her husband travelled with a Tropical Birding tour aboard the Yate Fragata (Frigatebird Yacht), Despite the large number of tourists visiting the islands, and the encroachment of settlers, the birds and other wildlife proved to be as unconcerned about humans as we had been hoping. Nancy often found her 300 mm lens too big, as the birds were just too close. She enjoyed many excellent photo opportunities, especially with the boobies and the famed "Darwin's Finches."
